Interview With Greg J. Matthews, Author Of Wild Awakening

Wild Awakenting

Who did you write your book for?
I wrote it for me: To heal from the physical and emotional trauma and PTSD as a result of the grizzly attack. I wrote it for God: To tell how grateful I was to my Dad in Heaven for rescuing His son and for healing and restoring my heart through the physical scars I still carry today. I wrote it for all of my future readers: To establish the truth and dispel the lies of what it really looks like to fall deeply in love with and have a Dad son/daughter relationship with the Father we have always dreamed of having.

Is there a central message in the book?
Our identity in this world, and finding true purpose in life, is never found through our achievements. The foundation of lasting joy and purpose is only found when your heart is unleased to engage in deep intimate relationships with God, Family, and those closest to you. We were created to have the foundation of who we are, rooted in the relationships we invest in.

What is the most important idea you are sharing in your book?
To shatter the world’s performance based rules of having an intimate relationship with God. Wild Awakening reveals a path to complete heart restoration and literally changes the way we think as Gods kids. When that battle of the mind is won, we are free to draw near to the kindest, gentlest and most loving Dad in the universe. This book tears down the seemingly impenetrable barriers of shame, guilt and condemnation and draws us into His arms of love and most importantly arms of “Grace”

Tell us your most rewarding experience since publishing your work?
The most rewarding aspect of writing this book is the hundreds of emails and messages I have received communicating how their lives have been completely changed through the reading of Wild Awakening. People are shedding their shame and guilt and running for the arms of their Dad, Jesus. Simply Amazing!

Most authors have one specific reason for writing a book. What was yours?
What is the part of your book you personally like best? The laying out in detail of the seemingly unending miracles God performed to save my life and restore the heart of a broken hearted eight year old boy……..ME!

Other than selling your book, what do you hope to accomplish with it?
One person, one family, one city, one nation and one continent at a time; I want to remove the lie that says “because of my past God could never love me”. I want to replace that lie with “Daddy I know I have a lot of baggage I’m dragging behind me, but I know now that none of that matters to you. Can I just crawl up in your arms and let you hold me?”

Did your environment or upbringing play a major role in your writing?
My upbringing and my life environments played a huge role in my writing. God’s fingerprints are all over my life both the good and bad parts. The situations in my life gave me the story, but God wove my writing together to heal me, and I believe to heal others.

How would you describe your writing style?
I have been told that my writing style is geared more towards fiction. The reason for this perception, is because of the level of detail I write to. Working with my editor/writer in bringing together Wild Awakening, I found we were removing some descriptive details. His reasoning was that we needed to leave room for the reader to paint between the lines with their imagination. I love to write in a way that convinces the reader that they are the character in the story, experiencing every sight, sound, smell and action as if they were really there.

INSIDE THE WORLD OF SEX TRAFFICKING

EXPLOITING CHILDREN SERIES

SPEAK OUT WITH MONICA

Federal law does not define sex trafficking per se. However, in the “severe forms of trafficking in persons,” as defined in the victims of Trafficking and Violence Act of 2000 (TVPA, P.L. 106-386) encompasses sex trafficking. “Severe forms of trafficking in persons” refers, in part, “(s)ex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform the such an act has not attained 18 years of age…. “Experts generally agree that the trafficking term applies to minors whether the child’s actions were forced or appear voluntary.

I had to say all that to say this: in the report is goes on to say that it has been suggested that minor victims of sex trafficking-while too young to consent to sexual activity with adults- may at times be labeled as prostitutes or juvenile delinquents and treated as criminals rather than being identified and treated as trafficking victims. These children who are arrested may be placed in juvenile detention facilities instead of environment where they can receive needed social and protective services.

My opinion, is that children used and abused by adults should never be treated as criminals but always be treated as the victim and be placed in safe, caring programs that will tend to their needs and walk them through their trauma with compassion until they become whole and triumphant.

Steven Wagner, President, The Renewal Forum writes this: America today harbors a vast and terrible criminal enterprise that victimizes a very large number of children each year. The enterprise is known alternatively as human trafficking, a modern-day slavery, or, more precisely, the commercial sexual exploitation of juveniles.

Who are the men who drive this industry, “johns”, but by calling them this minimizes the damage, the trauma they inflict on the child.
An article in the

Fair Observer – Girls Like Us: Johns – The Men Who Buy Sex
If men know that the sex industry is harmful to girls and women, why do they participate in it?
*(Note: The following is an excerpt from Girls Like Us: Fighting for a World Where Girls Are Not For Sale, a memoir about Rachel Lloyd’s experiences as a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation and her work over the last 15 years running Girls Educational And Mentoring Services (GEMS)
“Johns”, who make up the millions of men in America who buy sex from children. Those who have been exploited by the sex industry know that Johns represent every walk of life, every age, every ethnicity, every social economic class. Judges, mailmen, truck drivers, firemen, janitors, artists, clergy, cops, drug dealers, teachers. Handsome and rich, poor and unattractive, married, single and widowed. Fathers, husbands, sons, brothers, uncles, and neighbors.

Calling these men “Johns” minimizes the harm they do. At the very least, they are statuary rapists and child abusers. I would encourage you to go to fairobserver.com to read the rest of the article.

Child Exploitation is a very real issue. It should spark an emotion in us that wants to get involved in some way. Empathy, compassion, passion, anger…. something rather than turn a blind eye and have our head in the sand like an ostrich.

Steven Wagner, President, The Renewal Forum writes in the same article that many children today are either throwaways or runaways. He writes, the situation must change. We cannot allow, either on moral or practical grounds, another cohort of children to be discarded by families, subjected to profound trauma and serial rape, and then when used up, thrown back on the street to fend for themselves. Such children are virtually assured of being incapable of achieving independent, fulfilling adult lives without help.

Where does this demand for children to serve as sexual objects come from? Who are the huge numbers of men willing to pay for sex with children? It is plausible, if unsubstantiated, that this demand derives in part from our national epidemic of pornography consumption. In particular, the United States is one of the largest producers and consumers of child pornography in the world.

It’s a conservative estimate that over a quarter million children are bought and sold for sex in the United States.
This horrific issue of human trafficking is a global one, some countries experiencing higher victims than others, I have only touched on the problem here in the United States but the theft of human life in exchange for money for a human, a real person, is prevalent and the need to bring this in the forefront of the public eye is essential to start making strides into finding a solution.

HUFFPOST.COM
A CHRISTIAN CALL to END HUMAN TRAFFICKING Nita Belles, Contributor Author, In Our Backyard: A Christian Perspective on Human Trafficking in the United States’ (August 2011) Numbers and percentages are much higher now.

There are more slaves in the United States today than at any time in history.
There is nothing the criminals involved in modern day atrocities of human trafficking and slavery– the recruiters, the traffickers, the pimps, and others want more than for decent people to remain ignorant about what they do. All they ask is that we do nothing. Simple silence. If the myth that “it doesn’t happen here” can prevail, they have won.

This paragraph from Ms. Nita Belles book, In Our Backyard: A Christian Perspective on Human Trafficking in the United States”, is part of the battle call to Christians to take up the fight against slavery as Christians did in the Underground Railroad.

Jesus was clear about Christians responsibility to do something regarding issues such as human trafficking when he told the parable of the Good Samaritan. When asked what it takes to inherit eternal life, Jesus immediately replied we must love God with all our heart and love our neighbor as ourselves. To clarify, he pointed to someone who sacrificially cared for a socially outcast stranger who had been stripped, beaten, and left for dead. Jesus said, “Go and do likewise”. In Luke 4:18-19 Jesus describes his mission. It includes evangelism, healing and proclaiming freedom for prisoners, and releasing the oppressed.

• There are more than 27 million slaves in the world
• Human Trafficking is the second largest and fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world.
• About 80 percent of all US trafficked individuals are female, about 50 percent are children.
• In addition to the 100,000 youngsters trafficked annually, 244,000 to 325,000 American children are at risk for sexual exploitation and sex trafficking every year.
Read the rest of the article at huffpost.com and become well acquainted with this issue so you can do your part. If you have read this far then you can no longer turn a blind eye and stay silent because if you do you are aiding the traffickers with your silence… Instead become an effective weapon in the fight to end human trafficking. Don’t be too busy to save a life from torture and pain, the loss and the trauma.

Learn to recognize the signs of human trafficking and memorize the numbers to call to get help for the victims. As Christians and other caring people need to step up to do what we can to protect children and others from this horrific crime in our backyard.

I know, it is hard for us to fathom that people can be so evil, greedy and lustful as to put their own desires without compassion or empathy or value on a human life, especially that of a child. There is a growing, burning passion in me to bring Trauma To Triumph Family Ranches to fruition. The need to have a safe, nurturing, residence in a ranch setting with the quietness that, that provides, with the animals that are non-threatening to start the trust building process. Every 30 seconds someone is being stolen into slavery which increases the urgency.

We can pray, donate our time and resources, whatever it is…. we need to take action.

EXPLOITED CHILDREN

SPEAK OUT WITH MONICA

Children exploited either by physical, sexual or emotional abuses, homelessness, depression, neglect or human trafficking are just some of the horrific problems that kids face. In the United States there are over 3 million reports of child abuse annually. Child sexual abuse is on the rise with children younger and younger being desired.

(CNN) Child sex abuse lawsuits are expected to be filed against the Archdiocese of New York, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rockefeller University, the Boy Scouts, Jeffrey Epstein and others on Wednesday, the first day of a one-year window intended to give victims a chance at justice delayed.
The New York Child Victims Act, signed into law on February 14, expands the ways that those who suffered sexual abuse as children can use the legal system to address the damage.
In particular, the law created a one-year period, starting Wednesday, when any adult survivors of child sexual abuse could sue an abuser or a negligent institution, no matter how long ago the abuse took place. After years of legislative stalling, the bill was finally passed and six months ago Gov. Cuomo signed into law the Child Victim Act, which expands the statute of limitations on certain sexual offences perpetuated against minors.
The idea behind the law is that many victims of child sexual abuse keep it a secret for years, well beyond the previous statute of limitations, out of shame and fear. This law gives them a chance to “reclaim their dignity,” said Michael Polenberg of Safe Horizon, a victim assistance non-profit that worked to pass the law.
“For survivors who understand what has happened to them and know in their hearts what happened to them, they get to name that person in court,” he said.
Child sex abuse survivors Joelle Casteix, Jeff Dion, and Bridie Farrell of the Zero Abuse Project said in a joint statement that the law gives victims the power and ability to come forward, find justice and hold people accountable.

“The sheer volume of lawsuits filed today is both simultaneously heartbreaking and encouraging,” they said. “It is indicative of just how deep-rooted the problem of child sex abuse is in our country.”

This new law gives victims some monetary satisfaction and maybe some closure of having their voices heard about what was done to them, BUT it doesn’t help the emotions that will forever be scared, or the triggers that will be a lifelong plaque. It doesn’t give them their childhood back. A child’s mental, emotional and social development are deeply altered. Read the rest of the article – https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/14/us/new-york-child-victims-law/index.html

Wikipedia documents that girls begin the process of puberty at age 10 or 11, and boys at age 11 or 12 and the cut off point being age 13.
The life of a child is forever changed. When they should be carefree and enjoying their childhood, they are snatched into a dark nightmare world of pain and horror. Long term effects include but are not limited to are survivors tend to display more destructive behaviors, eating disorders, stress or anxiety, nightmares, amnesia around parts of their childhood, may hinder the growth and development of relationships even hinder the ability to have a normal intimate relationship because its overshadowed by experiencing the sexual abuse and leaving the survivor with a lack of sexual interest, difficulty becoming aroused or feeling emotionally distant or not present during sex OR survivors can display compulsive or inappropriate sexual behaviors.

What is heartbreaking is the sheer volume of child abuse cases and how rampant human trafficking is. Look at the Jeffery Epstein case that’s currently in the news. Jeffery Epstein was a convicted pedophile. According to Merriam-Webster the definition of pedophilia: sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object specifically a prepubescent child.

The New York Times in an article written by Jodi Kantor, Mike McIntire and Vanessa Friedman in July says: A strange thing happened when Jeffrey Epstein came back to New York City after being branded a sex offender: His reputation appeared to rise. People like Katie Couric and George Stephanopoulos dined at His Manhattan mansion with a British royal. Mr. Epstein has been photographed at a “billionaires’ dinner” attended by tech titans like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. A page on Harvard Universities’ website lauding his accomplishments. The Clintons, Powerful female friends served as social guarantors: Peggy Siegal, a gatekeeper for A-list events, including him in movie screenings, and Dr. Eva Andersson-Dubin, a champion of woman’s health, maintained a friendship with him. Including participating in a Caribbean gathering of some of the world’s top scientists, including Dr. Hawking; all taking place over a decade of time. The earliest releases listed Mr. Epstein’s personal contact information; later ones had the names of media consultant. New York Times article goes on to say some of the ersatz news stories found their way onto sites like Forbes and The Huffington Post. Mr. Epstein started mingling with celebrity scientists like Stephan Jay Gould and Steven Pinker and developed friendships with former Harvard president Lawrence H. Summers and law professor Alan Dershowitz, who later helped to defend him. The New York article continues to read the full article go to nytimes.com

The point I’m trying to make is this man Jeffrey Epstein was a known pedophile and a convicted sexual offender for over a decade and yet the above people-maintained friendships with him. How many children’s lives he personally traumatized or destroyed or orchestrated traumatized by others displays a lack of integrity, empathy, a lack of compassion to the lives they were destroying. The loss, the lack of confidence, the low self-esteem, the loneliness and trauma these children experience was not felt by Mr. Epstein and those he associated with. They destroy lives and walk away without apology because they think they are superior.

Before I close, I want to end on a note of hope, or becoming triumphant or victorious.
I would encourage you to read the article How Victims of Sexual Abuse Can Get the Better of Satan by Mary Demuth at christianitytoday.com The article goes on to say: Just over 25 years ago, Christian therapist Dan Allender released The Wounded Heart: Hope for Adult Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse. Now, after decades of clinical practice, Allender has published a follow-up: Healing the Wounded Heart: The Heartache of Sexual Abuse and the Hope of Transformation.

It is more than the biology of trauma it is the spirituality of trauma. Satan is the accuser, he comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy, but the good news is this that Jesus is the healer who comes to give life and to give it more abundantly.

Trauma To Triumph Family Ranches is a much needed residential program that is need to give hope and a place of refuge for the wounded to recover and become whole again.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

It’s beyond what the normal mind can comprehend. It drives all kinds of emotions, blood boiling anger, heart wrenching sadness, a passion to do something, a desire to evoke those same emotions in others in order to make people aware of this desperate need, to stop this atrocity against children but in reality no one is safe from what is going on behind the scenes. A baby, a toddler, a young child, teenagers and adults…. No one is safe. Again, I say, it’s beyond what the human mind can comprehend, the normal mind that is.
It’s in the news more these days, which is at least making aware there is a huge issue. Just when I think I’ve written on the subject and can move on to another topic – wham, another story comes up in the news or on social media and now with what I just read, I decided I needed to land on this topic and be a part of putting the focus on this issue. This issue is very real, and we all need to do our part. Everyone, yes, everyone has a role to play in working together to stop human trafficking. What can I do you say, be vigilant, be aware of what is going on around you, who is in your environment, whether your close to home, out shopping, passengers in vehicles near you or if you are flying on vacation or meeting. Learn how to identify a victim and what are the signs… let me interject here, NEVER confront someone you suspect is a trafficker or let the victim know you are aware; it would compromise your and the victim’s safety. Make yourself familiar with the numbers to call to get help and call that number as soon as you become suspicious.

Human trafficking is a global issue and people we would never suspect are involved.
A child trafficker has gone on the record and confessed during a filmed interview to selling thousands of children into sex slavery and admitted to killing hundreds that he was “unable to sell”

British investigative journalist, Ross Kemp, tracked down and interviewed the child trafficker, who admits that he has lost count of how many young girls he has killed, but it’s “somewhere between 400 and 500”
Kemp, an award-winning journalist who is best known for his fearless documentary making, seems to be struggling with his emotions during the interview in which he’s sat face to face with the man as he admits to killing hundreds of kids. You can read the rest of the article and watch the video clip at http://humansarefree.com

Another headline – THE UN Is Normalizing Pedophilia: The Deep State Is Free To Pray Upon Your Children – The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is sanctioning a sexual revolution that will culminate in legalization and whole hearted support of transgenderism but will also support the legalization of pedophilia. Much more is involved in this – The North American Man-Boy Love Association NAMBLA, their trademark “sex before eight, or is it too late”. George Soros gives money to this organization. Kevin Jennings, an Obama Department of Education official, and close friend of Hilary Clinton has involvement in this group as well.
Bootstrapping gender neutral and homosexuality protection issues to pedophilia is already happening. The New York Times is on record saying that pedophilia is not a crime.

Back in 2014 they were already working on changing how the public thought of pedophilia – Margo Kaplin, assistant professor at Rutgers School of Law, Camden wrote an article in The New York Times – Pedophilia: A disorder, Not a Crime
The ACLU is actively defending NAMBLA and pedophilia advocates.

Yesterday Wednesday August 1, 2019 Alex Lasker, AOL.com WOAI-TV in San Antonio. Texas Police rescue 9-year-old boy from human trafficker trying to sell him. Authorities with the San Antonio Police Department and Homeland Security were immediately notified according to WOAI-TV.
Detectives followed several leads and were able to locate the 9-year-old in a parked car outside of H-E-B supermarket around 12:30 am Wednesday. Read the story at www.aol.com. The National Human Trafficking Hotline says in 2018 it received reports of 10,949 suspected human trafficking cases. California, with 1656 reported cases followed by Texas, with 1,000. Beware of your surroundings and keep your kids close to you. Be diligent, don’t be distracted with your cell phones, stay focused!
I hope I have stirred something in you, for you to want to do what you can to help

In my opinion – it is either right or wrong, we all have choices and we can choose to do the right thing or do what is wrong. A rule that I live by is ~ do what’s right, not what’s easy…. Always!
